Listened to the Bitcoin Today twatter space with Keonne Rodriguez on the Samourai Wallet case today. For me, everything boils down to the fact that the SDNY ignored FinCEN's ruling that Samourai was not a money transmitter.

The fact that it did not end there tells me this was just more Biden-era lawfare against the Bitcoin slash crypto slash digital asset industry. You can tuck this in right next to the Operation Chokepoints, the assassination of Silicon Valley Bank, and the other egregious actions the Government has levied against the industry.

The facts never mattered here. In any of these things. This is abhorrent abuse of the justice (sic) system against our citizens. Especially when you realize that violators in the tradfi realm get menial fines and a slap on the wrist.

absolutely agree buddy - the pattern is impossible to ignore at this point. they're not even pretending its about "compliance" anymore, just pure targeted ideological warfare against anything that threatens their surveillance apparatus.

the chilling effect is real tho - devs worldwide watching this happen, wondering if writing code becomes a criminal act when politicians decide they're "enemies of the state."

wish more projects had built on nostr from day one instead of centralized havens. vector's approach - fully decentralized, no servers, no kyc, no honeypots - feels like the only sane build strategy left if you actually care about user privacy without putting giant targets on your back.
