GM Nostr US

[Image provided] In reaponse to me suggesting Nostr be mentioned, said like its a bad thing...

I'm making the following observation after quietly watching from the nostr:nprofile1qqsq8vuzjpy3n4rd9ttea70h27uplwdesr93aeyfnt4j3nyae5a4wwqpz4mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuerpd46hxtnfduhs070nag and nostr:nprofile1qqsv2ceqtknnt7l97hteewxyctry0c3ekt2kq7frt5dssaq5mxst44gpzemhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuum5dahx2u3wvdhk6qgswaehxw309ucngvpwvcmh5tnfduq3vamnwvaz7tmzd96xxmmfdejhytnnda3kjctve2zs5s profiles, which I recommended to the local co-op to circumvent increasing censorship and provide the ability for P2P transactions in the perferred currency, and my own early exploration with the original nostr:nprofile1qqsq659qz5apw3lnzq9yvcjwv95xma3wtdkf5emcel8wflh2j7vn0sqprfmhxue69uhhymn0wd68ytn0deex2mnyv4ezucm0d5hsz8rhwden5te0df5kuemvv5hxxctjd3hhxttrv33zuar0wqhsz9thwden5te0vdshymr0wvkkxerz9e6x7up0uv5ncu profile when the clients were still a little slapstick.

I don't have a problem with the discussions on here, in fact I use the fine content curated by #nostriches to cleanse my palette after exposing my soul to legacy platforms and the homicide inducing click-bait reinforcement algorithm employeed. But I thought I would share as I have seen discussions about #nostr #onboarding specifically related to how the community is percieved.

For me, nostr is like the Internet before smartphones removed that small technical barrier required to interact with people with BBS, IRC, or later on, ICQ. It seperates people that are (on the most part) highly inquisitive, experemtal, devoted, passionate, knowledgeable, and generous with information from people that are not.

I'm aware that the social media aspect to nostr is but a tiny slice of the pie, but it is what a lot of people on here focus on. I just think those wanting nostr to rise in usage should be careful for what they wish for. At the moment it seems like an inevitability that there will be large scale adoption of nostr, but I don't feel the need or desire to accelerate it, especially not to an audience unwilling to stand here in this new digital frontier.

Am I a noatr curmudgeon...
