its probably some custodial wallet service where someone else is paying ( ie the customer) so they dont give a fk

i just had core do this to me today so 🤷‍♂️

ahh as in there is some function to estimate fee for your transaction you want to broadcast for next block and it overestimated?

well, maybe it's the same calculation or source... confusingly core uses a different metric to mempool.space
