The boomer sign of peace is something I dread. I’m in more traditional leaning N.O. land - communion rails / kneelers in use at about half the parishes, ad orientum not uncommon, but maybe only 20% omit the sign-of-peace.

Pastors are far too afraid of the boomers ($$ in wills). When it is omitted, they’ll still do it, but the rest of us can ignore it, and continue with mass
