Any chance you have done research on the processing challenges of these other nuts? Bc my state has a big black walnut operation, but chestnuts are more interesting to me since they're smaller today than they uses to be and i never heard of processing issues, only that production is low.

That’s cool, would love to see the operation. Pecans are easier and more profitable to shell commercially. Black walnuts require hull removal, have very hard shells, produce fragmented meat, and are much more labor-intensive. Explains why pecans became the commercially successful native nut
