His problem is that he's still thinking about himself. He's asking how to comfort his Christian mother but won't even get re-baptized for her. Who gives a shit, dude? You're dying, it's water, do you want to comfort your grieving mother or not?

Isn't it funny how, as an atheist, he wouldn't be compromising his faith because he has none, unlike a Christian who revoked Jesus. There is literally no downside to doing that, but he refuses because of his what...morals? Gimme a break. If you believe in nothing, your morals don't matter. you'll die and nothing will happen.
