Mostly I try to consume my foraging as I find it.
I used to freeze dry my extra. But now I just freeze and use often till it's gone.

I may have to give this a go. I just love Onions and garlic so much though. Paird with any mushroom fried in butter is my go to 🤙
It’s really hard for people to tell the difference from real chicken after I fry it usually.

Do you have a spot you harvest. Chicken of the woods will reapear every year until the log /tree is void of substance
No I’ve always just had good fortune coming across it while camping usually, but now knowing that now: I know right where to look!
This spot of mine is going on 5 years. And I'm sure a handful of years before I found it
Timing can be tricky if it's an adventure find though. Although it will appear every year. When will be dependent in the conditions of the season.
This year has been an early year for all the Mushrooms on my land due to the early sustained heat and massive amounts of spring and early summer rain
