Recommended laptop for bitcoin managment.

I'd like to pickup a second laptop to manage bitcoin. Linux based probably (open to suggestions).

Would anyone recommend the T440p Thinkpad?

I'm just wanting something that is simple, barebones, cheap and reliable to install required applications for managmeent.

Also, anything else that I should look for spec wise?

I have a Lenovo Yoga, i7 is very thin and it's running Linux Mint Cinnamon.

Hmm but above my price range

I had a Samsung i5 laptop that I'm giving to my daughter. It's 10 years old. Look for a high end modern laptop that is used. The aluminum bodies are good for cooling.

Look for a laptop that with at least an i5 processor, 16gb ram and an internal ssd.

These are things that will make great performance.

You still can't find good hardware in the cheap retailers. Also don't get crap resolution for your screen.

Been thinking of getting a thinkpad t420!

Great question. I’ve been wondering the same thing - and unfortunately only very recently started learning how to handle at least the minimums off Linux. Deciding to manage some sats properly is good motivation to step up my learning.

What have you found?

I looked at an Acer Swift Go 14 a friend had but it seems a bit cheaply made physically. I also talked with someone who uses a Lenovo Thinkpad E16 he got new for less than $650 and uses mostly for writing and online research. He says it’s been reliable but doesn’t challenge it much. I don’t think either of these are good suggestions - I’m just starting and not very knowledgable about hardware.
