I don't know much about Mexican cartels. But I assume they mostly leave the tourists alone because they're good for business.
That said, if US is launching military operations against cartels on Mexian soil, is it safe to assume that tourists are good bargaining chips all of a sudden?

I lived in Cabo in 08-09 when the economy collapsed. One day all the private jets stopped arriving, all the best resorts were empty, then the tractors stopped building, then restaurants started closing. It happens fast.
