First rain for months last night - 20mm, not insignificant.

2 days ago I bought a 12V submersible pump & a 1000L IBC container. I filled it with water from my pond & put it on some young fruit trees that were struggling in the dry spring heat.

The weather bureau is predicting rain & storms for the next 3 days.

Oh well, at least I've figured out a way to use my pond water.

Congrats on the drought break fren.

Working on "simulcasting" study group from Hivetalk and Clubhouse. It's probably not gonna work but I'm tinkering.

I'm guessing that the people on Clubhouse won't be able to hear the people on Hivetalk and vice versa but people in both places will be able to hear me and I'll be able to hear them. Not sure if I'll be able to cross pollenate but we'll see.

Eventually study group will probably move to Hivetalk but for now Clubhouse is recording sessions and making them available for replay almost immediately to all study group members. Eventually when I get everything set up the way I want it set up, I'll start releasing the study group sessions as podcasts at which point Clubhouse will be an entirely redundant and centralized parallel that I may or may not dump.

That sounds awesome man.

Follow you intuition, even if you can't logically rationalise it.

Good timing! I was just grokstorming a solar shed A frame with some sort of water tank integrated/rainwater capture system

I already capture rainwater from my roof in large poly tanks for drinking & washing. That's the primo water though & I don't like using it in the garden.

Water sovereignty is important, start building & it will all slot into place.

Nice one brisket. 👍🏻

We too are starting to get a few scuds coming thru. Only a few mm, but lovely to see.

Plus.

Maybe a little pricey but these pumps fairly hook in.

Pumped 1000s of litres of oil in the mining industry. 💅🏻

It's only $100 more than what I paid for my submersible. I just put another 750L into the IBC with it. I'm pretty impressed it can pump it 3m high in a 2inch lay flat hose.

I was looking at a Honda petrol powered pump 2nd hand for $600. The only issue with that is I'd need a lot of hose to get the water where I want it. Probably a more long term solution (right now there's a traffic jam with the kids cars in the way).

That's the way!

We had no rain, nor do we have a pond.

Survival rate looks slim.
