I've actually ordered some in the past to entertain my pets (cats) during winter, keeping them in the acquarium is relatively simple but requires active daily maintenance for them to live a full cycle and reproduce. Also, depending on a place where you order, most of them come with some (genetic?) paralysis virus which makes it somewhat difficult to make them reproduce as most of the population dies off after reaching adulthood. Or maybe it's just not for me but I generally would not recommend that as resources on how to deal with that are relatively sparse at the time it seems. It's weird that they have been approved for being added to food in the EU though ( https://www.pubaffairsbruxelles.eu/eu-institution-news/novel-foods-house-cricket-becomes-third-insect-authorised-as-food-ingredient-for-the-eu-market/ )
