One of the things I learned about communication when it comes to remote work is that you have to always spell out what you mean.

It’s fairly common to have something in your mind as you reply to someone, not realizing the context is not obvious is the reply while it makes total sense in your mind.

It’s always best to clarify what you think was meant by the reply and how you are addressing that comment step by step.

That is true, honing a way of expression that avoids ambiguity. Nonetheless, you can deliver in the most easily digestable format and some people would still miss the point. It's also a difference in IQ at play. Hence, it's necessary to double check with others if you're on the same page, and clarify misunderstandings.
