Sorry! I got it confused with “Infura” the cloud computing company which runs most of the ETH nodes.

Is infra just short for infrastructure?

yes, a vps is infra. a router is infra. the cabling is infra.

I understand now 🙏

I’m hoping to upgrade to a more hardcore node sometime in the next year or two. I have fairly good capacity and routing partners, and I would love to be able to provide reliable LSP services to friends and family.

yeah, i have a really nice optic fibre gigabit link here now, can't wait until i have the cash handy to put a bitcoin node up and my own channels, to maybe a few decent plebs get into a little node running and try to make something that runs for a long time and doesn't close for as long as possible... like the old days of uptime bragging rights... people should really brag about how long they keep channels open, it's a worthy contest.

It really is. A few of my channels turned 1 year old last month, although my actual uptime is probably closer to 95% due to a few power outages I’ve suffered here.

Lightning is a game changer for Bitcoin scaling. I did about 100 payments in 10 minutes with my zaps, which would’ve cost $250 on the main chain.
