It's honestly incredible to me how many folks learned nothing from the Snowden drop. "Yeah, well everyone's on Gmail it's free and just so convenient."

If it's "free" then you are the product.

Make the switch to [ProtonMail](https://pr.tn/ref/0FES9KF6HHD0) for E2EE and get a free month of Plus. You can upload your own pgp keys, trust non-proton keys, etc. Full suite (Premium) includes Contacts, Calendar, VPN, Pass (for passwords and email aliasing/burners), and Drive (for files). I've been very happy with it for the past few years, and it just keeps getting better.

Absolutely. I'Ve been a very happy ProtonMail user for years

I used to have free proton mail, but I now pay for it because I want my private email to stick around and I don't want them motivated to sell my info to stay in business. Of course I also get some extra features with the paid version.

I wanted to get rid of my yahoo account entirely, but I have used it for so long and many websites, that I use for work, use the email for login and won't let me change it, so I have 2 emails, one for normie functions and one for everything else.

I’ve done something very similar, except with Gmail. I actually prefer keeping those spheres separated.
