It’s not about what is the best way to get notified - this is subjective and every user will have different preferences, there is no best method.

It’s about increasing stickiness and habit formation for millions of people who check their emails daily or 50 times per day.

All my apps notifications are muted besides chat, email, banking and calls. I see this as a trend that is only getting bigger because notification overload is too distracting. So for me and a bunch others specific email notifications are something that would get my attention. To each their own though.

Same. I mute all push notifications always. There’s no way to notify me of anything unless I check. And I check email so I’d see them there. Of course I muted Twitter emails long ago but some platform notifications are actually useful.

I was thinking Twitch emails for example, and I think I’ve tuned in once or twice because it sent me an “X is live right now” or something along the lines, so fair enough 💜

Especially ones I can specifically tailor like simple email alert when someone scheduled a stream or Nostr nest would definitely make me more likely to hop back on and participate/tune in.

Same

That’s a good point, but it would still fall under my entertainment emails, not the work emails 🤔

But regardless, if it grabs your attention for even 1-2 seconds, it’s now on your mind again

Now I’m actually curious about how often people check their email accounts, might be underestimating it heavily 🤔

Kinda understanding more what you’re getting at, could be a great way to hook back in the people that maybe use a nostr app once a week or even less

Google is your friend there 🙌 or chatgpt
