I tried to explain my wife how money is created at the banks (central or otherwise) and I totally failed.

She couldn't grasp the idea that the bank gives you a $100 and expects $110 back. She said, "wait a minute, where do the other $10 are suppose to come from then?"

She is an Engineer, it made no sense to her because it makes no sense.
