I suppose it's nice devs are not at total war yet, like how they are on the Fediverse. But it's important to remember that "extend, embrace, extinguish" only applies to mega corporations, not some guy. Devs reserve the right to attract the most users and then break compatibility. The way to fight back is to attract even more users. The Genghis Khan mentality wins, in this network of chaos.
