Fix the money, fix the world is such a powerful meme. I think you can bend it toward the concerns of whoever you’re speaking with.

At one point in this stream, @LynAlden mentions that the “dark side” of Volcker’s interest rate hikes was that it flatlined Latin American oil consumption and constrained growth in those countries, which partially helped the US get back on track after the stagflation of the 70s.

As someone who grew up with activist aunts who marched with Cesar Chavez and lived in Mexico, with a brother who lived in El Salvador and studied the civil war there, anecdotes like that that describe how a fiat monetary system allows for these kinds of imperial economic relationships to develop and be exploited are super useful when talking with people about the peace inherent in a fixed money supply.
