Push https://www.drupal.org/project/automatic_updates forward, with a focus today on reviewing more nuanced symlink detection in composer-stager: https://github.com/php-tuf/composer-stager/pull/61

With that, we’ll be able to remove a bunch of stringent requirements and hence make it work in many more circumstances!

That initiative / project really awesome! And Drupal needs it!

It’s has been a couple of years ago I made a project (for my former employer) with the Gitlab API which executes all updates on all Drupal repositories in your Gitlab account. The only thing we had to so was review the merge request and test the site on a review environment. Really enjoyed working on that project.

Yep! This is that, but 💯 times more complex: no CI, no developers reviewing it, happening on production where a million things could go wrong 🫣

When it ships it will be awesome, but there is a LOT of new ground to cover that Drupal core has never before had to worry about! 😳
