I bought a pair of waders online, like what duck hunters and fly fishers wear when they are wading through waist deep water.

Pretty much gum boots that got up to your chest. Really hope I got the boot size right.

They were in European sizes and the charts I looked up were contradictory.

We literally have quicksand, the sludge in the driveway after all this rain is the consistency of cornstarch puddy, if you drive over it fast enough it's ok, but if you go too slow you sink.

And it's the same when walking or riding over it. Back in 2021 or 22 we had similar problems with the quicksand mud.

I don't know how the cows are getting to the creek or why they are bothering, plenty of water to drink without going down there at the moment, I rode my bike over their tracks today (down the centre of the road) and ended up with shoes full of mud, every hoof print is full of water, they could follow the fence line around instead and walk along the ridge but don't.

Anyway I'm sick or being cold wet and covered in mud every time I go outside so if the boot size is right and I like them I'll probably get a few more pairs and just wear them all winter.

I can relate. We owned a horse boarding ranch and seasonal mud was the bane of my existence for those years. I managed by buying many tons of gravel/rock from a local quarry and placing it with the bucket of my tractor where needed - roadways, gate pass throughs, etc. I also hired an excavator to create ditches to divert water. About the time I got it manageable, we had a terrible ice season which broke my wife’s will to keep going and we sold the business the following summer.

I did get to play with rock and dirt for a while, which was satisfying 😉😂

We still have land and our horses, and some similar issues, but no customers which makes it a manageable problem that I am good with.

Good luck!
