I think for many in here they voice their opinions on topics that many governments at the the moment donât agree with and would not approve of (mostly because those in âpowerâ gained it and continue to hold this âpowerâ through manipulation, printing, force and fear.) Some on Nostr are even diligently crafting code to safeguard this precious realm of free speech, allowing anonymity to shield them from potential harm (specifically from the government). Also for some Bitcoin enthusiasts, their passion is tempered by the very real fear of being kidnapped based on where they live. There are many reasons and the reasons are as diverse as they are vital.
In a way, it mirrors our own experiences, as women, learning that posting a photo of our front door can invite unwanted guests, or streaming an IG live while strolling through the park alone at night might encourage a stranger watching that live to just show up.
Thatâs not to say there are not families on here updating us on the latest crop they grew in their garden or girls posting images of their summer vacation. It's up to each person to decide the level of
âprivacy" or anonymity they want based on what aligns with their lifestyle and preferences. â¤ď¸
Trust me seeing your cool water sports and beautiful horses makes #Nostr a cozy place. It's like a tightly-knit neighborhood; some choose to stay indoors, only venturing out for essentials like a quick trip to the shop, while others delight in baking cookies and hand deliver to every neighbor while chatting for 30 minutes to each neighbor they deliver cookies to. Then there are teachers, skilled tradespeople like plumbers and electricians, gymnasts, and more â and thatâs what makes the neighborhood.
