This is huge! U r doing god’s work!

The only device out there to be truly verifiable 🧡

We’re actually doing our best to promote SeedSigner here in Russia for the newcomers as due to sanctions the logistics got screwed and there’s no one to trust any more (and trust was never the way to go), meanwhile SeedSigner is the only device that can be self-built. 🔥

Keep it up and huge thanks for your work!

Really appreciate this -- if you are not able to obtain conventional hardware wallets there, are you able to acquire the components to build a SeedSigner more easily?

We order pieces from China via Ali express. It takes ages - about three months to receive - and single orders do not feel anywhere near “reasonable” cost wise. E.g. if a single individual wants to order a couple of sets he’ll be looking at a cost exceeding a price of a basic Trezor. It goes without saying what the choice of a newbie will be… even though we’ve had a number of straight out crazy cases of people loosing everything they’ve put into their Trezor bought from an official reseller cause the device was corrupted.

However me and my friend are huge fans of ‘don’t trust, verify’ and ‘build your own’ concepts and enjoy educating people, so we’re buying components in bulk and doing some Bitcoin sessions explaining all the dangers and sharing our view on the ways of avoiding those. We’re recommending SeedSigner and offering the components for people to assemble themselves.

Doesn’t pay the bills, but surely brings excitement with every new comer digging the concept of free tech.

We’re actually just starting - tried this concept out on a small batch and it kinda worked - there turned out to be a few people who listened and didn’t turn out to be too lazy or ignorant. We’re now awaiting another 100 sets.

The biggest issue now is the cases. These are hard to find and quite expensive to produce unless we decide to go deep into 3d printing. I feel like we might.

Again .. super cool project!!!

This is so awesome, thank you for sharing these details. 🙏

No doubt in my mind that you should obtain a printer if you're planning to assemble that many units. It shouldn't require a deep dive into 3d printing to just get some enclosures printed though, especially the Open Pill. That was intentionally designed to be a single, simple print and not to require *any* additional hardware to be able to build a signer.

Please be in touch if I can help and would love to hear more once you get some of the signers built and deployed.

Thank you so much. Also our idea is not to assemble the signers, but rather have people do it themselves. We find this important for people to grasp the soul of #Bitcoin and to personally ensure that the device they use was not tampered with. We of course help assemble it if necessary and will probably start selling assembled ones if there is demand. Will surely keep you updated.
