On June 10, 1742, German Moravian bishop *Nicolaus Ludwig von Zinzendorf* (a.k.a. “Bro. Louis”) visited a ship that had recently arrived in Philadelphia and told a group of German Moravians on board, including my 6th great-grandfather Philip Meurer, that they “should shine as Lights in this Country.”
