Lance Stroll and the Stroll family are a bit of an embarrassment to Canadian #F1 fans. As a country, I think most of us do not like nepotism, and feel people need to earn their own way in life.

This is why our country was solidly behind Jacques Villeneuve back in the day. Sure Jacques had an ultra famous name and father, but JV earned his own way in #F1, becoming a world champion.

Stroll is just a spoiled rich kid playing with Dad's money. He has no place in F1. And he proved even more so today, calling Danny Ric an idiot, and not taking one iota of the blame for his own stupid driving mistake.

I'm wondering if today's outburst is just because he has been told that he's on a "show the pace or be replaced" contract. I don't think Alonso would've signed on "for life" (obv. running the team once he stops driving himself) if he knew he would be stuck with Lance.

This is my guess as well. If Stroll Jr. doesn't improve he's going to further drag AM's 2024 campaign to the ground. The lack of performance could be grounds to put Stroll Jr. on the WEC program that AM seems to be developing. But eh, who knows.

I mean, if he can at least match or be a tenth slower than Alonso they'd comfortably outscore Mercedes in points.

Maybe Stroll Sr. won't consider that since it's his son and all. But if he's a true racer, he'll at some point have to put his son on the rock grinder for dragging AM down.
