All about knowing the origin, not just with cacao but everything we put in our bodies, if we really knew the true cost of everything we consume we would be alarmed. The hidden costs are normally the ones that hit the environment and the farmers the most.

I came to know that even the Swiss who are famous for chocolate (just to clarify, cacao doesn’t grow in chilly Switzerland, it grows far away in the tropics), buy the standard commercial cacao which is not high quality cacao. They do have splendid machines and add many other products, sugar, milk etc etc, to give it its smooth and consistent taste, but it is not in general the highest grade cacao. It just mascarades as such.

It’s not always easy to know, but where we can this is when our food really becomes medicine and our medicine becomes food. Bitcoin teaches us to verify not trust.
