You misunderstand the situation. This was intended to crush. They thought they had plenty of (false) accusations to attack over. They kept pushing for the next (false) accusation. They keep dismissing the truth. They keep avoiding the truth. They manufactured circumstances and false accusations. They (semi-)recreated circumstances maliciously to make things more suitable, usable. They kept referring to the few earliest (false) accusations.

Everything was done with malicious intent. Rules, laws and rights were dismissed because (unjustified) excuses gave them "justification".

This has been ongoing for a long, long time.
