I think it does even if phone is off. Lol I kinda remember there was a XFiles chapter about it and now it is a reality a la black mirror style

Oh man I just had a lucid flashback to my X Files binge days.

I wonder how many hours I've "wasted" watching movies and shows. And continue to do so.
