Next time, if he hands you a ticket, say thank you officer, and write an indorsement on the front or back, ideally, on the back:
WITHOUT RECOURSE
PAY TO: (YOUR NAME IN ALL CAPS
BY: (Your name in lower case), agent
Hand it back to him or just mail the ticket in to the court or payment processing box. Just the indorsed ticket. No additional check or payment of any kind.
Smile because you just paid your ticket as an indorsed negotiable instrument, you'll NEVER hear from the court about it - it just vanishes.
