Babylon and decentralized medicine

In Babylon, when someone fell ill, they were taken to the marketplace because there were no doctors available. People passing by would stop and offer advice based on their own experiences with similar illnesses. They would suggest remedies that had worked for them or for others they knew. It wasn’t allowed for anyone to pass by without asking about the illness and giving some advice. This communal approach ensured that medical knowledge was shared and accessible to everyone.
