Finally setup my Ubiquity Unifi wireless access points properly after years of just leaving everything on auto.

Proper spacing, proper channel segregation, proper channel width and appropriate SSIDs for 2.4GHz for IOT stuff and 5Ghz for phones, tablets and the odd laptop that isnt plugged into ethernet.

Ive always hated wifi but now with proper configuration I hate it a little bit less.

Do you have a good reference for their gear by chance? - running 50 of the U7 Pros at a school and I want to optimize the shit out of it, but finding good UniFi geeks is proving to be hard. That WiFiman app is supposed to be solid on android especially, but could use a nice procedure best-practice type cheat sheet if there’s one around?

I started with this.

Hope it helps!

What did it change? I have my entire home on Auto but it works

less IOT devices dropping off the network randomly

I may have to learn how to do that
