It was unexpected (I get it a few times at conferences, but not public) - but not creepy in this case as I didn't get bad vibes. (It can be a bit odd when someone tells you all the facts they know about you, but there's an information asymmetry)

Turns out he was Canadian (coincidentally lived 20min from where I do now) & moved to El Salvador, so we'll connect again & swap stories!
