I mean, I make fun of mastodon and bluesky users, but first and foremost, both protocols allow some jannie to curbstomp your account.
Hmm I sorta think that makes sense as a reason not to join in posting here tho, no? The predominant monotopic community and lack of noticeable efforts to expand? He says it's 'the perfect protocol' too, not that he doesn't like it.

We all made the same sacrifice coming here. I'm not gonna build a community for them. It just comes off as entitled to a welcome mat and a warmed up glass of brandy waiting for them.
Furthermore, bitcoiners and nostr are not some freakish coincidence. It makrs sense that the people who sought censorship resistance are the first homesteaders.
Yes totally, the hope is that the venn diagrams of interest keep adding more circles. Meshtastic, devs, permaculture all have a close overlap with Bitcoiners and will keep (hopefully) being in more 'offtopic' conversation/communities. I think you could invite a permaculture person here who had zero exposure to bitcoin and they would find a solid crew. Ideally you'd be able to do this with more and more topics.
