I believe in informed consent, and when it comes to birth control, and women's health women should know that some forms of hormonal birth control like the pill, the patch and insert suppress ovulation. If you don't ovulate, you cannot produce progesterone, which has a calming and balancing effect on mood, slepp and brain. This lack of progesterone has been associated with increased heart disease, diabetes, dementia, and depression. There are other forms of birth control that don't suppress ovulation, like the copper iud, condoms, or fertility awareness method . So, when deciding which form of birth control, YOU should consider this together with your context, desires and health situation.

Thank you for your candid response. Do you consider the withdrawal method a form of birth control?
