Its about the significance of human freedom, the moral weight of our choices and how we live meaningfully and ethically.

He argues that the story is not about fleeing from knowledge but embracing it responsibly, recognizing that our decisions shape our lives and our world.

Bonhoeffer was a German pacifist who lived through the rise of the Nazis. He eventually tried to assasinate Hilter and was executed.

I was raised in the Mormon church but strayed from that path a long time ago. Though I do still appreciate some of the things those teachings instilled in me. This is similar to one of those teachings. There is very much a spirit of helping and striving toward moral good in the teachings.

These ancient stories have survived through millennia because every generation found them so helpful and life giving that they told them to their children. I find the process of wrestling with / against them nurishing. I encourage you to pick them up again but this time less as moral teaching, and more as an invitation to a sacred space of transformation.
