Yep I can imagine this type of things but my question was more theoretical, can we imagine a way to make it work almost totally without internet except for initial node synching IBD (which could be semi trusted maybe with SPV like tech ?)

It comes down to how you want to solve the double spend problem. Bitcoin time chain is based on global consensus, so a global network of some sort. Lightning moves the double spend to cooperative peer to peer among two sides of the channel. No internet required in most cases. Ecash moves it to the mint(s). No internet required if you can reach the mint.

Just want to solve it the usual way, by allowing everyone to know all the txs that ever happened on the time chain aka running a node. Just changing the communication layer.

As mesh are much slower this would maybe require:

- in certain areas of the world to wait 144 block instead of the 6 recommended or more (or less) to be sure that a tx is settled

- to initially trust someone with internet access who could provide a recent snapshot of the blockchain as no IBD can be done through mesh network I assume
