You’ve got to have millions of streams to make anything “decent” and even then artists make most off touring and residuals off licensing (if music used in a commercial, tv/movie) and other brand deals. Streaming has killed the industry.

Yeah this sucks. We might as well go back to BiTorrent and zap artists we like or send them sats to the Cash App.

Not sure how we could comeback from the streaming economy now. People are used to just paying a flat monthly fee instead of individually paying per CD or MP3 as before. And if there is anything that I’ve learned, the majority of people are cheap and would rather pay the least amount possible. This is why V4V is so hard imo. You have a few outliers who are champions around it and you might even have bursts of those who are for a period of time, but then the cost might become too great overtime if they’re not a diehard fan or niche supporter. The popularity of Spotify was a double-edged sword.
