Not owning property is viewed as a mental illness in Australia.

When you tell people about not owning property, sometimes you get pity, sometimes you get confusion.

Yesterday, I was talking to an NPC about matters of world. When I mentioned that I live in a rental, his face lit up in a way I'll never forget. He immediately discounted everything I had said prior. The look of superiority that came over his face because he owned a shitbox in the burbs is how I imagine King Louie XIV would look at a peasant.

The breakdown of the fiat ponzi is going to be so fucking brutal for Australia.

Going trough the same. Decided to rent instead of buying.

Houses costs money and are a liability, not an asset. Delusion.

Even when you are away from home the bills are there, mortgage, land and property tax, energy, water, etc... not to mention the wear and tear and other maintenance.

Some you can't run away, but others you can.

So why put any capital, more than what is stricltly necessary, on a home? So many more interesting stuff to own, that generates you revenue.

The same revenue that you can use a part to pay for a rent. and live anywhere:)

Very similar to Norway. Everyone «saves» in property here.

My boss doesn’t wanna hear how cheap his house is getting in bitcoin, because he thinks he has doubled his investment on his house lol

Faces will melt soon tho

Don’t worry

We have been right all along

I think the “property always goes up” is a mental illness / ponzi.

It’s all a false economy.

Wealth extraction, not actual value from productive work, is propping up too much of our country.

“owning” property 🤪

This.

You're probably glad you own Bitcoin instead.

Damn right
