Why does it have to grow?

Doesn’t HAVE to grow but I don’t think there’s anything wrong with more content, more variety of content, more censorship resistant ideas and engagement.
What’s wrong with growth?
Growth is the old ways. People worried about how many followers they have. How many 👀’s. Quality or quantity.
