I'm not so sure. Seems like everyone here is mostly happy with the prospect of NgU, settle an astronomical tax bill and then live the good life they think they deserve.

The space has changed so much in the last few years. 2017-2023 there was a huge shift in that people stopped seeing bitcoin as freedom tech and started to identify as a "Bitcoiner" yet their overall vibe is one of we'll-all-get-rich (WAGMI).

There are many satisfied with Bitcoin’s NGU properties, and if that means they’re just preserving their wealth in the face of State theft then I’m fine with that. Not everyone is going to want to take on a mission as big as “separate money and state”.

There are however thousands of Bitcoiners who see the freedom tech possibilities and who are willing to take on that mission. We’ve barely begun to scratch the surface of what’s possible there but things like Erik Cason’s new book ought show that people are still interested in the bigger crypto-anarchy philosophy and the longer those NGU holders are exposed to hardcore Maxis, the more that philosophy will bubble up and drag the Overton window in our direction.

This isn’t a “project”, it is not going to be done in sprints, it’s going to be a life’s work for many who may not see the fruits of their labour.

I’m here for it because what else am I gonna do, be a slave? No. There’s no way out of this rabbit hole, you’ve got to keep going down until you find a new way out the other end.
