The downside of printing guns is that you are left with a weapon that cannot shoot without bullets, and you cannot easily source bullets since if guns are regulated in your environment, bullets will be too, and heavily so.

You could improvise yourself as a bullet-maker, but I've educated myself enough to know that I will never happily go down that path.
