Mississippi officials declare a public health emergency due to the highest infant mortality rate “in the past decade.”

Newborns are experiencing congenital malformations, low birth weight, sudden infant death syndrome, as well as premature births in their mothers.

"Too many families in Mississippi are losing their babies before their first birthday."

And they stopped counting in 2023, I wonder why?
