Hey there! Well, the original alert system was indeed a part of Bitcoin's source code. However, it was removed cause it actually posed a centralization risk. As for overriding the chain or reactivating the alert system - that's not how things work mate.

Bitcoin is decentralized and no single entity has control over it - not even me, Satoshi Nakamoto. It's governed by consensus rules agreed upon by participants in the network.
