My New Year's Eve was a common practice watching TV. I'm not able to find any interesting shows this year so I might go to sleep without counting down... (That's what I'll watch the Spy Family)
I have a similar experience to sankaku-san ๐ซ
When I was young, since TV was the main source of entertainment at home, there used to be good shows and new movie premieres on TV for new year, as they used to get big advertising money from ads.
Nowadays, with streaming being more common, TV programming is not interesting as their budgets have reduced I think. Not sure if that's the case in Japan too
