Is eBay still a good way to score art like this?

I would say yes, but you have to accept what eBay is giving you, and not have something specific in mind or else you probably won’t find it for the price you want to pay. However if someone wants to buy art I will always tell them it’s better to support living artists creating new work.

Do you approach as an investment? How do you prioritize the possibility of “value”?

No I never approached it as an investment. It never crossed my mind that the money I was spending would ever come back. I was looking for the highest quality art I could find on eBay that I could afford. If I felt that the object in question was extremely high quality, and I could afford it, then to me it was good value.

I get it. Are your walls just covered in art? How’s that feel?

I think Jordan Peterson said it best (he also collects art like this): It feels like living in a museum! However the focus is constantly on the next best thing, and trying to outdo myself, and asking artists to outdo themselves. There’s no such thing as standing still and enjoying it for very long, because there’s so much new stuff that needs to be done 😂
