Say you did good last bear, $20k average as it stands. $100k to $105k is a 5% daily move, but it is a 25% move from your perspective relative to your cost basis. You made another $5k on your $20k investment.
It is reasonable to think you will 1 day see a 100% day from that $20k perspective. If not this bull almost definitely next bull will have at least 1 $20k day.
Their dollar moves too slow to ever really feel this effect so they can't grasp just how well you are doing on that investment.
