ok so I just verified that webfinger is working with my project now, and I was able to get one test instance to request a remote group from the other test instance and try to insert it into the local database so I am pretty hyped :marseyexcited:

just need to do a few more adjustments and I will have pretty much enabled the project to be able to fetch remote boards/users from other instances (which in turn should enable the other user actions like subscribing to boards, users, posting on remote instances, etc)

What is webfinger anyway? It sounds weird. Can we talk to ppl on your instances though?

It is essentially the mechanism by which activitypub servers can search for users and groups on other instances.

No, can't talk to people on my instances yet (still trying to get them to talk to each other first lol). I was able to get a remote board fetched though which is a huge first step but now there are other errors I am working through
