Was anyone else prescribed fluoride tablets as a child?

The ones I remember taking were about the size of a lentil bean - purple and coated in grape flavoring. Took them after brushing our teeth.

We had well water so these were prescribed - thought nothing of it. Still hate the taste of city water.

Turned out not mentally impaired but just curious. Anyone else?

I can’t imagine how much smarter you could be if you didn’t take that

Idk it was super normal in rural areas, not sure if it's still a thing. Was prescribed by my pediatric dentist. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

No, but in elementary school in the 1980s my whole class regulary (weekly?) went to the gym and was given a cup of fluoride. Everyone took it unless their parents opted them out.

That's a new one! Never heard of that. I think science has been co-opted for a lot longer than we thought.

yeah, we had green ones when i was a kid up until like 1983 or so, i ate lots of them, probably wasn't a trivial part of my developmental problems (i also was fond of eating clods of margarine) - possibly i mitigated some of that with my fondness for eating shitloads of green apples, raw carrots and onions
