Then I tell them once their stack is a pretty good size and they wanna protect it and keep it safe… grab a jade for like 40 bucks

Seems to be the easiest, then move them to a self custody wallet when they get enough.

I have to agree with Hunter. Make it easy. Cash app, Strike, Any of the popular KYC phone apps he may already have.

The evils of exchanges, KYC, UTXOs and self custody is a lot to throw at a newby. Just keep it fun and simple.

Once “a few sats” turns into an amount of dollars that your friend would feel uncomfortable loosing you can teach him how to protect it with self custody.
