so here's the thing: i sort of wrote a few novellas here over the span of about 25 years.... and the shores are mining camps, albeit elite ones. it is also a high clearance naval base. you might imagine there are issues.

one of my mother's unspoken anxieties about driving 6 hours to the coast is her lack of assurance to able to feed the frenzy in a smart car, not get fried, and not get brain drunk. so i just yapped and told stories and we reminisced and what not for 4 hours until she lost signal in the hills before the ocean.
