It really is a 'request delete' function. I've done this where some relays will honor the request, and others will not. As long as the one relay still holds the note, it will still appear in most clients.

The clients really need to handle the delete events also I think, assuming that's what the user wants. They could also have an option to show events that have previously been deleted.
